Autofiti Marketplace (autofiti.co.ke) is a vibrant community where users buy and sell cars, vehicle parts, and automotive services. Our Community Guidelines outline expectations for respectful, ethical, and lawful behavior to ensure a safe and positive experience for all users, whether you’re using Free, Starter, Pro, or Elite plans, premium features, Business Profiles, banner ads, or Sell on Behalf services. By participating in our community, you agree to uphold these guidelines, in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act 2012 and Data Protection Act 2019 of Kenya.
 
Our Community Vision
We aim to create a trusted platform where buyers and sellers connect seamlessly, supported by professional listings, Business Profiles, and services like Sell on Behalf. These guidelines complement our Terms and Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy to promote fairness, transparency, and respect.
 
Expected Behaviors
To build a thriving community, we encourage you to:
  • Be Honest: Create accurate listings with truthful details (e.g., car condition, NTSA logbook status) and authentic photos to build trust with buyers or sellers.
  • Communicate Respectfully: Use the Platform’s messaging system to engage courteously with other users, avoiding offensive or aggressive language.
  • Act Ethically: Honor agreements with buyers or sellers, such as delivering items as described or providing promised services (e.g., repairs, detailing).
  • Showcase Professionalism: Maintain high-quality Business Profiles (Basic for Free/Starter, Enhanced for Pro, Premium for Elite) with accurate brand information to enhance credibility.
  • Use Services Responsibly: Leverage premium features (e.g., highlighting, moving to top) and banner ads (charged per click or view) to promote listings fairly, without misleading claims.
  • Support Safety: Follow Security Tips, such as meeting in public places for inspections and using secure payment methods, to protect yourself and others.
  • Report Issues: Notify [email protected] promptly about suspicious activities (e.g., fraudulent listings, abusive messages) to keep the community safe.
Prohibited Behaviors
To maintain a positive environment, the following actions are not allowed:
  • Dishonesty: Posting misleading listings, falsifying Item conditions, or providing fake documentation (e.g., forged NTSA logbooks).
  • Disrespectful Communication: Using abusive, harassing, or discriminatory language in messages, listings, or Business Profiles.
  • Unethical Practices: Failing to honor transaction agreements, such as delivering defective items or refusing to provide advertised services.
  • Spamming: Sending unsolicited messages, posting repetitive listings, or overloading Business Profiles with irrelevant content.
  • Inappropriate Content: Including offensive, illegal, or copyrighted material (e.g., unlicensed logos, photos) in listings, banner ads, or Sell on Behalf submissions, in violation of the Kenya Copyright Act 2001. See Copyright Infringement Policy.
  • Manipulation: Creating multiple accounts to bypass listing limits, inflate views, or exploit User Group plans.
  • Unsafe Practices: Requesting payments outside Platform methods, sharing personal details (e.g., bank PINs), or meeting in unsafe locations.
Community Standards in Action
  • Listings: Ensure descriptions and photos accurately represent the Item (e.g., car mileage, part condition) to avoid disputes. Use premium features responsibly to enhance visibility without exaggeration.
  • Business Profiles: Reflect your brand authentically, using original or licensed content (e.g., logos for Pro/Elite profiles) to build buyer trust.
  • Sell on Behalf: Provide truthful Item details and respond promptly to Autofiti’s requests to ensure smooth sales, maintaining community reliability.
  • Interactions: Treat all users with respect, whether negotiating prices, responding to inquiries, or coordinating inspections, to foster positive relationships.
Enforcement and Reporting
  • Monitoring: Autofiti may review listings, messages, and profiles to ensure compliance, using automated and manual methods, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2019.
  • Reporting Violations: If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to [email protected] with details (e.g., listing URL, message screenshots). We will investigate within 7 business days.
  • Consequences: Violations may result in:
    • Removal of non-compliant content (e.g., misleading listings, offensive profiles).
    • Temporary suspension of services (e.g., messaging, premium features).
    • Account termination for repeated or severe violations, without refund of payments.
  • Appeals: If you believe an enforcement action was incorrect, submit an appeal to [email protected] within 7 days, including evidence (e.g., proof of compliance). We will respond within 7 business days.
Protecting Our Community
  • Safety First: Follow our Security Tips to avoid scams, verify buyer/seller identities, and use Platform payment methods for secure transactions.
  • Trust and Transparency: Build trust by maintaining accurate Business Profiles and delivering on promises, especially for businesses using Pro or Elite plans.
  • Community Feedback: Share suggestions for improving the Platform by contacting [email protected], helping us create a better experience for all.
Data Protection
  • Data related to community interactions (e.g., messages, reports) is processed securely in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2019.
  • Personal information may be shared with authorities or affected users to address violations. See Privacy Policy for details.
Liability and Disclaimers
  • Autofiti is not liable for losses, damages, or disputes arising from user interactions, misleading content, or guideline violations.
  • The Platform is provided “as is” with respect to community conduct. See Disclaimer for full details.
Governing Law
  • These Community Guidelines are governed by Kenyan law.
  • Disputes arising from violations or enforcement will be resolved through arbitration in Nairobi, per Kenyan arbitration laws.
Changes to These Guidelines
  • Autofiti may update these Community Guidelines to reflect changes in our community or legal requirements.
  • Updates will be posted on the Platform and effective upon posting.
  • Continued participation in the community constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
